Rainbow Swaras

Terms of Use

Applies to: Raaga Search, Raaga Finder, Rainbow Mela, Rainbow Swara, Rainbow Metronome, Rainbow Taal, Rainbow Strings, Rainbow Chords, Rainbow Chords Pro and Rainbow Instruments ("the apps"), the books and guides we publish, and the website www.rainbowswaras.com. Publisher: Dr Karthik Rangarajan, trading as Rainbow Swaras ("we"). Effective date: 3 December 2026. Contact: support@rainbowswaras.com.

By installing or using an app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall it.

1. Licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use each app on your own devices for your own learning, practice and performance. You may play, record and share what you make with the apps.

2. Our rights

The apps, their text, diagrams, designs, icons, the way the raga and chord data is presented, the guides and the books are © 2026 Dr Karthik Rangarajan. All rights reserved. You may not copy, sell, rent, republish, reverse-engineer, decompile or extract the data, code, images or audio from the apps or books, or use our names and logos to suggest an endorsement, except where the law allows it or we give written permission.

Third-party material. Some sounds and images are used under free licences and are credited on the World music page of Raaga Search. Those licences, not these terms, govern that material.

Names. Raaga Search, Rainbow Chords and the other "Rainbow" names identify our apps. They are not registered trademarks, and nothing here gives you a right to use them.

3. Purchases

Some apps are free and offer paid upgrades, and some are paid apps. Purchases are processed by Google Play and are subject to Google Play's terms and refund policy. A one-time purchase unlocks the stated content for your Google account on your devices; it is not a subscription and does not renew. Prices may change; a price change does not affect what you have already bought.

4. Musical information

The apps' raga, scale, chord, tuning and tala information is educational. Music traditions differ between schools, regions and teachers, and our names, spellings and groupings are one reasonable presentation, not the only correct one. Please consult a teacher for authority on tradition. A tuner reading or an audio sample is not a substitute for your own ear.

5. Safety and health

Do not use an app in a way that distracts you while driving or doing something dangerous. Listening at high volume can damage hearing; set the volume to a comfortable level.

6. No warranty

The apps are provided "as is" and "as available". We try to make them accurate and reliable, but, to the extent the law allows, we do not promise that they are error-free, uninterrupted or suitable for a particular purpose.

7. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost profit or lost opportunity arising from the use of the apps, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app or upgrade in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

8. Your content

What you create (custom ragas, setups, recordings) is yours and stays on your device. We do not receive it. You are responsible for having the right to record, share or publish anything you make, including music by others.

9. Updates and ending

We may update the apps and these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. You may stop at any time by uninstalling. We may stop supporting an app with reasonable notice on its store page.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Pune, Maharashtra have jurisdiction, without affecting any consumer right to bring a claim where you live.
